Generational Equity Announces Acquisition of Software Design Solutions by Applied Visions

Generational Equity, a leading mergers and acquisitions advisor for privately held, middle-market businesses, is pleased to announce the acquisition of its client, Software Design Solutions of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, by Applied Visions of Long Island, New York. The acquisition closed Sept. 16, 2016. Details were not disclosed.

Founded in 2003, Software Design Solutions offers development services for embedded systems, workstation applications, user interface design and software process improvement.

The company has developed applications for a variety of industries including medical, industrial automation and control, audio and image signal processing, transportation, networking, defense, security and consumer devices.

Applied Visions develops custom commercial applications that run in the cloud, on mobile devices and desktops. The company has become increasingly involved in "internet of things" (IoT) applications in recent years. The addition of Software Design Solutions' capabilities will accelerate AVI's growth in that important field.

Managing Director Doug Smith and Vice President Ryan Johnson led the Generational Equity deal team that advised Software Design Solutions on the transaction.
